Izmjerene brzine strujanja na 2 ADCP uređaja poslužile su za verifikaciju rezultata numeričke analize provedene s MIKE 3 FM..; This paper gives an insight into implementation results of the program of measurements and numerical analyses of hydrodynamics (flow – U,V ; salinity – S and temperature – T) as well as concentration of faecal pollution indicators (faecal coliforms – FC) in Istrian coastal area. Faecal coliforms are the principal component for evaluation of the intensity of change in the marine environment which will come about with the planned implementation of 5 new public wastewater collection systems with accompanying submarine outfalls.. To carry out the numerical analyses of hydrodynamics, the numerical systems MIKE 3 FM (DHI, 2008) and ROMS (Regional Oceanic Modelling System) were used. The numerical model ROMS was used for analysis of hydrodynamics in the entire area of the Adriatic sea with spatial resolution of 2 km. The results of these analyses present the boundary conditions (salinity, temperature, level) for MIKE 3 FM, which uses the advantage of variable spatial discretization of 2 km on boundaries of the model domain of 200 m along the very coast and in the vicinity of the planned submarine outfalls. For numerical analysis of spatial and temporal dynamics of FC concentration, the numerical model MIKE 3 FM, i.e. its module EcoLab was used.. The analysis was carried out for a continuous period of one month (13 February-13 March 2008). The S, T measured data base with CTD probes which is necessary for verification of the model of the whole Adriatic (ROMS) relies on the three existing national monitoring programs. The measured flow velocities on 2 ADCP instruments served for verification of the results of numerical analysis carried out with MIKE 3 FM.
